The Discraft Heat debuted as the 2014 Ace Race proto and quickly caught fire with players for its control, glide and distance at slower arm speeds. It has a smaller rim for easier grip, and is being hailed as a breakthrough in delivering improved distance for new and developing players.
I've thrown this disc now quite a bit - i'm still learning it, but have a good sense of what its like.
The Heat in Z plastic seems to be very reliable and predictable - when thrown flat, the flight is a fairly narrow S that finishes straight. Hyzer holds the line nicely and it handles wind well.
The feel in the hand is quite robust and chunky - no real perceivable flex/bend with a tight grip...it is asking to be thrown hard.

Great beginner friendly driver
Love the feel, has slightly larger dome on in and has a super stable flight on it. Very predictable great for someone who wants a first driver without having a 10-11 speed.

Understable driver of choice
Fantastic disc for long, straight drives with hyperflip. Great glide too. Disc is a little prone to flip over on turnover shots when thrown with too much power.

Great workable driver
I find this driver perfect for dead straight hyzer flips, long s curves and big turn over. Also flies really nice when powered down as its super glidey. Great understable driver for beginner to mid speed
