The Ion is a straight-flying putter with a lot of glide that has an over-molded edge. This over-molded edge allows for a choice in flexibilities and firmnesses without sacrificing a desired soft, tacky outside edge. A softer outside edge will aid in grabbing the chains and dropping into the basket. In addition to its unique over-mold design is the comfortable grip of the disc. The edge where the flight plate meets the rim is rounded, so you fingers conform to the disc when you hold it.

About Electron Plastic
Electron is MVP's mid-grade, softer plastic. It feels amazing, but it is not made for taking a beating at high velocity. It is primarily formulated for putters.
The ion absolutely slaps. Shape wise it does have the rounded inner rim which can be disconcerting for people initially, but once you get over that it's difficult to find a better general flier out there. This disc quickly becomes straight as an arrow and has a ton of glide, making it dreamy to power up on or throw with touch. Well done MVP.
